What Does a "Verified Driver" Mean?
Short answer: Before any driver can accept a ride on MyAmbulex, we independently confirm their identity, license, driving record, background, insurance, and vehicle credentials directly with the relevant authorities. No driver goes active on the platform until every one of those checks is confirmed.
When you or a loved one needs medical transportation, trust is not optional. "Verified" is not a marketing word for us. It is an extensive confirming process we run for each requirement, checking directly with the body that regulates or issues it rather than taking anyone's word.
What we verify before a driver goes active
- Identity. A valid government-issued photo ID confirming the driver is who they say they are.
- Driver's license. We confirm the license is current and valid.
- Driving record. We review the driver's motor vehicle record for a history of safe driving.
- Criminal background check. Drivers pass a background screening before they are approved.
- Auto insurance. We verify active auto insurance that meets our coverage requirements.
- Vehicle registration and permits. Current registration, plus any commercial or livery permitting their operation requires.
- Vehicle standards. The vehicle must meet our condition and safety standards to be used for rides.
These are not self-reported. Because most are governed by regulation, we run each requirement through its own confirming process with the issuing or regulating body, from insurance carriers to background screening to certifications. A driver only goes active once every one of those confirmations comes back clean.
Certifications on the driver's profile
Drivers carry safety certifications, and you can see them on the driver's profile:
- CPR
- First Aid
- Bloodborne pathogens (carried by some drivers)
This lets you factor training into your choice, alongside price and ratings, when you pick a driver.
Verification is ongoing
Approval is not a one-time gate. We keep driver documents current and re-verify on an ongoing basis, so an active driver's credentials stay valid the whole time they are on the platform, not just on day one.
How this protects you
- You are never assigned a stranger. You see a driver's rating and certifications before you accept, so every choice is informed.
- Confirmed at the source. We do not take a driver's word or a photocopy at face value. Each requirement is confirmed with the authority that issues or regulates it.
- Consistent standards. The same verification applies to every driver, whether they are a solo owner-operator or part of a larger fleet.
How MyAmbulex handles it
Verification is what makes an open, driver-choice marketplace safe. We do the vetting up front so you get the freedom to pick your own driver without giving up the assurance that comes with a screened, credentialed network. Combined with in-app tracking and ratings, it means you always know who is picking you up and that they have cleared our checks.
